Somatic Regulation Sessions

Nervous System Support for Mind–Body Healing

At Graceful Balance Wellness, we recognize that healing doesn’t happen only through talking — it also happens through the body.

Our Somatic Regulation Sessions offer gentle, one-on-one nervous system support designed to help you feel more grounded, regulated, and connected to your body in a safe and accessible way.

These sessions are not yoga classes and do not require flexibility, fitness, or prior experience.

A somatic regulation session focuses on the mind–body connection and the role the nervous system plays in stress, anxiety, trauma, and emotional overwhelm.

Using gentle, trauma-informed practices, these sessions help clients:
  • Increase body awareness
  • Learn tools for nervous system regulation
  • Reduce chronic stress responses
  • Feel safer and more present in their bodies

Sessions are tailored to the individual and move at a pace that feels supportive and respectful.

What Is a Somatic Regulation Session?

Somatic regulation sessions may be helpful if you:
  • Feel chronically stressed, anxious, or overwhelmed
  • Have difficulty “turning off” your nervous system
  • Notice physical tension, fatigue, or emotional shutdown
  • Are working through trauma or high stress
  • Want body-based tools to complement therapy
  • Feel unsure or hesitant about traditional yoga classes

You do not need to be flexible, athletic, or experienced with movement-based practices.

Who Are Somatic Regulation Sessions For?

Somatic regulation sessions are included as part of our 4-session Foundation Model for new clients. This allows individuals to experience nervous system support early in care and decide whether ongoing sessions feel beneficial.

Clients may also continue somatic regulation sessions as part of an integrated care plan alongside therapy, nutrition, or coaching.

Frequently Asked Questions:

1. Is This the Same as Therapy?
No. Somatic regulation sessions are not psychotherapy and do not replace therapy. They are a complementary service focused on the body and nervous system.
Many clients find these sessions especially helpful when combined with therapy or during seasons when verbal processing feels difficult.

2. Is This a Yoga Class?
No. These are individual therapeutic sessions, not group yoga classes. There is no expectation to perform poses, follow sequences, or “do it right.”
Your comfort, consent, and regulation come first.

3. Who Provides Somatic Regulation Sessions?
Sessions are led by trained providers with experience in trauma-informed, mind–body practices and nervous system education.
Your provider will work collaboratively with the rest of your care team when appropriate.
